The F. M. Kirby Center is one of Wilkes-Barre’s most well-known attractions. It has officially been around since the mid-1980s, and was named after Fred M. Kirby. The co-founder of the famous retail company Woolworth’s, Kirby was a Wilkes-Barre native.
